I was pretty excited to get the email that I qualified to receive the Beauty Blogger VoxBox.

Here are the goodies I received.

 Goody Spin Pin
I used this in my daughters hair since she was always complaining about elastics giving her a headache. I didn't really work for her. She has thick layered hair and felt her bun kept moving from side to side when she moved her head. It might work if your hair is thinner and not as layered.

 Kiss Ever Pro Lashes
I'm definitely not an everyday lash wearing kinda gal but I used these for Halloween and they were perfect for my costume. These would also be great for special occasions.

Eboost Daily Health Booster
It's a powder that you mix into water. This didn't go down easy for me. I recommend drinking it with ice.

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream
I used this on my dry frizzy ends and it did the trick. It's not too heavy or greasy and smells like coconut.

NYC Individual Eyes in Dark Shadows
I like this palette a lot especially since I tend to gravitate towards silvery colors during the holiday season. It's a great value with 3 shades of gray and a highlighter. It also comes with a primer and a cream highlighter. The packaging is nice and sturdy, great for on the go. It is nicely pigmented and affordable. I will definitely be using this palette for the upcoming holidays.

Bath and Body Works Mini Candle in Black Pepper Bergamot
I was scared about this one, but thankfully it doesn't smell like black pepper. Its smells like men's cologne and isn't overwhelming. The mini makes it a great stocking stuffer for the men in your life.

  1. Quick comment on the spin pins: they make another set that's a little shorter but with three pins that work well in my hair. tried 2 pins once and it didn't work out well. I don't think two pins are enough to secure a bun. The longer ones will probably be better for thicker/longer hair but I would still think you probably need 3-4 pins to get a bun that stays better.

At least that's my impression of them. And it might still move a little but that's the tradeoff for something that isn't as tight on your head. If it's a bun for dance or anything with a lot of hopping around it probably needs an elastic and I'm not sure these would be sufficient to hold for that.

    1. (I hate typos ... ignore the one that makes it look like I don't know what's grammatically correct!) :)

    2. I'll probably purchase another pack of the longer ones because my daughter did like them! She said it didn't feel like there was anything in her hair which is a plus! Thanks for the suggestion Hilary!

Mini TJ Maxx Haul and Target Boots

TJ Maxx is my favorite store to shop at, since I love a good bargain . Brand name clothing, shoes, makeup, and housewares at awesome prices! I also love Target's clearance section which is where I picked up the boots. In addition to the boots, I also picked up two large lamp shades for $6 each!!

I love anything mint colored, and looking at this mug just made me happy! TJ Maxx $2.99
On my way to the register, I spotted the red mug with hearts and couldnt resist. TJ Maxx $3.99

I also have heard about being able to find theBalm products at TJ Maxx but most of them had missing items or were broken. I was finally able to find one that was intact. It comes with a bronzer that doubles as an eyeshadow, a blush, a lipgloss with SPF 17, and a mini kabuki brush. $9.99

Here are some swatches:

Betty-Lou Manizer is a bronzer which doubles as an eyeshadow. It is the perfect color for my skin tone. However, as a bronzer, there is fine glitter that is visible in the sun. I prefer matte bronzers. No…

Red Lipstick Collection

I have recently become obsessed with red lipstick. I love how it can add a pop of color to a simple look and make it look like you've made some effort.  Check out my latest YouTube video on my red lipsticks:
As promised here are some swatches:

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in Sultry and Standout

I was a good girl. I wanted to buy all of the Revlon Matte Balms but I held myself back. It took a lot of effort. I picked up the two shades I knew I would get a lot of wear from. These two shades are Sultry and Standout.

Sultry is a gorgeous pinky mauve.

Standout is a gorgeous deep red.

I really think I might pick up some more. They go on smoothly without tugging. While these are matte, they are comfortable to wear since they are not as drying as most matte lipsticks can be. Until now, I really thought "matte balm" was an oxymoron, but Revlon has done it!
